Successful Clean Up Day 2018

Successful Clean Up Day 2018

A huge THANK YOU to the 18 energetic residents who spent last Sunday morning collecting roadside litter and rubbish around our area as part of Clean Up Australia Day 2018. This was a joint activity of the Napoleon Reef, Walang & Glanmire Residents Association and the Glanmire-Walang RFS which provided its tankers to act as traffic calmers and also provided very welcome cold water on what was a very warm morning.

Once again Bathurst Regional Council supported our clean-up by providing additional gloves, bags and high-vis vests for the volunteers as well as collecting the accumulated rubbish.

This was a wonderful community activity that concluded with a well-earned sausage sizzle.  It was particularly wonderful to have four young residents join in and very gratifying that the amount of debris collected was about half of last year’s collection.
