On Sunday 6th March a group of residents spent a number of hours working in Glanmire Lane and Mersing Lane, Walang Drive and Napoleon Reef Road picking up roadside litter. The rubbish in the photos shows the amount of rubbish collected. The volunteers also focused on the RMS stockpile near the highway at the eastern end of Walang Drive. The activity was supported by the Walang Glanmire RFS who used their tankers as “traffic calmers”. For those that could stick around we ended with a sausage sizzle at the fire shed.

Credit also goes to staff at BRC, particularly Alison who was incredibly helpful and supported the activity in a number of ways. Council staff picked up the rubbish from where we had stockpiled it beside the fire shed later in the week.

A big thanks to all those involved.
