What a fantastic day!  All who attended Napoleon Reef Landcare’s first event on Sunday were treated to a wonderful program of talks and demonstrations that provided outstanding information about the birds, plants and habitats of our area and how to care for them.  The demonstration of constructing habitat hollows in dead trees or branches captivated everyone and the detailed explanation of ecological burning has been inspirational.  This was a day for community and sharing.  There were outstanding displays of beetles, bug and other intriguing aspects of our environment, plants, historical photos and the work of our talented artists Nic Mason and Katrina Daly.  There was lots of conversation, fun draws for a wide range of donated prizes as well as delicious food throughout the day.  Everyone involved in the planning and delivery the day, the guest speakers and those responsible for the various displays, those who provided the prizes and all who attended are to be congratulated on their part in making the day such an outstanding success.  We look forward to further community days in coming months.
