A group of enthusiastic residents spent the morning of Sunday 5th March collecting roadside litter and rubbish as part of Clean Up Australia Day 2017. The areas covered this year were Walang Drive, Napoleon Reef Road, Glanmire Lane, Yarras Lane and the RMS stockpile site at Walang. This was a joint activity of the Napoleon Reef, Walang & Glanmire Residents Association and the Glanmire-Walang RFS which provided its tankers to act as traffic calmers. Bathurst Regional Council supported the clean-up providing gloves, bags and high-vis vests for the volunteers as well as collecting the accumulated rubbish. Justifiably pleased with their morning’s work, the volunteers concluded the morning enjoying a well-deserved sausage sizzle lunch.
The photos show some of the volunteers and some of the rubbish collected.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who was involved in the clean-up and to all those residents who take pride in our beautiful area and help maintain it for all to enjoy.
